The Howell Gun Club is is happy to announce that the Scholastic Clay Target Program is up and running again this year. The club is looking for enthusuastic young shooters who are interested in learning or refining their trapshooting skills. There is no experience necessary to participate in this program. The group meets on Tuesday evenings at the club from 5:30 until 8:30 or 9:00. To help with the tutoring process, the trap ranges are closed to all other shooters during the Tuesday evening sessions. Parental or responsible adult supervision is required for all shooters present. Responsible adults are required to remain within visual and speaking distance of their child at all times. No responsible adult = no shooting for that child. The club has a perfect safety record and tight parental supervision is a great way of insuring it remains perfect as well as giving the child moral support. All students will receive individualized attention as needed and will be taught the fundimentals of gun safety, proper trapshooting etiquette and trap shooting by experienced certified trap instructors. The youth rate per round of trap is $2 for 25 targets. Loaner shotguns are normally available for those who do not have their own. Ammunition is also available for purchase at the club at local prices. If you know of any boys or girls that may be interested, please have them contact Trap Chairman Jim Delaney at 517-404-4546 for more information.
The remaining dates for registered trap shoots in 2008 are:
October 11th - 100 16’s, 100 Handicap, 50 pair of doubles
December 20th (This is the annual knife Shoot) 100 16’s, 100 Handicap, 50 pair of doubles
This schedule has been updated to reflect a change of the Jun match to 21 JUN 08. All other matches remain the same as previously published.
